10ème arrondissement

The Tenth arrondissement is located on the Rive Droite (Right Bank) of Paris. It has been, for the previous two centuries, one of Paris’ transportation nexuses. This fact is due mostly to the construction of the Canal Saint-Martin and the twin train stations of Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. The presence of these train termini makes the Tenth a great location for people looking for a Paris apartment within the reach of much of Europe. A Paris apartment in the Tenth is the perfect springboard for someone looking to travel around Europe. The presence of the Gare du Nord and Gare del’Est make it a simple task to go on weekends through Europe. Trains departing from the Gare du Nord have destinations ranging from northern France, Belgium, the Netherlands, German and the United Kingdom. Indeed, a trip on one of the Eurostar’s TGVs to London takes just over two hours. The Gare de l’Est is no less convenient for inter-European travel, with destinations such as Berlin, Munich, Innsbruck, Luxembourg, as well as Champagne, Strasbourg, and Mulhouse in France. It was also from the Gare de l’Est that French soldiers were transported to the Western Front during World War I. Those soldiers and their struggles are memorialized inside the station with an unforgettable painting. Clearly these international Train termini make Paris apartments in the Tenth European apartments. A Paris apartment in the Tenth is also near the historic Canal Saint-Martin. The Canal, whose construction was started by Napoleon in 1802, was used to supply Paris with water, food and grains. In the 1960s the Canal was all but abandoned as a supply route for Paris. A new life for the Canal began, however, as it became a gathering place for Parisians and tourists. Indeed, beautiful evenings and nights bring people along the length of the Canal, who enjoy the views of the bridges and barges, not to mention the numerous restaurants and bars around the Canal. The Canal makes Paris apartments in the Tenth a great place to spending evenings from. Paris apartments in the Tenth aren’t limited to the restaurants around the Canal, however. The Tenth is also famous for its variety of Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi restaurants. These restaurants are centered around the Passage Brady, which is found between the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin and the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis. These restaurants make a Paris apartment in the Tenth a gateway to multiculturalism. The Tenth is also a home to a duet of beautiful churches. The first of these two churches is l’Église Saint-Laurent. The second, l’Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, was built in the 1800s. It features a beautiful terrace and interior. With beautiful churches, great restaurants, a magnificent canal, and easy transportation to the rest of Europe, the Tenth is missing nothing as an enjoyable location for Paris apartments.
