1st Arrondissement

The 1st Arrondissement of Paris, which is located on La Rive Droite (the right bank) and the western portion of the Île de la Cité, is found in the very center of Paris. The parts found on and nearest the Île de la Cité have their origins in the pre-Roman city of Lutetia, while the rest of the 1st Arrondissement began to be developed in the early Middle Ages. With such a history it is no surprise that the 1st Arrondissement is full of beauty, monuments, and culture, which makes it the perfect place to obtain your new Paris luxury apartment.

Having a Paris apartment located in the 1st Arrondissement has numerous benefits. For one, the 1st Arrondissement while being at the very center of the city is actually the least populated of the Arrondissements. In fact, a large portion of the 1st Arrondissement is actually occupied by the Palais du Louvre and the Jardins des Tuileries (the Tuileries Gardens). This affords residents of the First the opportunity to take numerous breath taking walks through the royal gardens of the Queen Catherine de’ Medici. The Tuileries Gardens also host numerous events through-out the year, including a summer long funfair, as well as fashion events during the semiannual Fashion Weeks. Touching the Tuileries Gardens is the Louvre, which makes a cultural visit after a relaxing walk one of the beauties of having a Paris apartment in the First. And the Louvre is much more than just a cliché visit to the Mona Lisa. It holds one of the largest collections in the world, including entire sections devoted to Egyptian Antiquities; Roman, Greek and Etruscan Antiquities; Near Eastern Antiquities; Islamic Art; Paintings; Prints and Drawings; Sculptures; Decorative Arts. Indeed, the building itself is a piece of art, with its magnificent façades, incredible interior design, and stunning murals. A short walk from the Palais du Louvre, or any Paris apartment in First, is la Comédie-Française, where theater productions, especially those of the master playwright Molière, can be enjoyed during the afternoons and evenings.

Residents of the First are also privy to a shopper’s paradise. Below the Tuileries Gardens and the famed Rue de Rivoli, which runs along the Louvre, is the Carrousel du Louvre. This underground shopping mall is not only renowned for its high ending shops; tenants including Apple, Sephora, Virgin Megastore, Esprit, Fossil, and Swarovski; but also the skyline of La Pyramide Inversée made famous by the Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code. The Rue de Rivoli itself is lined with shops, including the Anglophone book store WHSmith. At the northern end of the First is the shopping district of Les Halles, which mixes shopping with a sunken garden, surrounded by squares filled with fountains, sculptures and mosaics. Simply put, the First can fulfill even the most discriminatory shopper’s tastes.

A Paris apartment in the First is also the perfect place from which to enjoy evenings out. The First is home to numerous first class restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. An evening out could consist of dinner at the Michelin starred L’Espadon restaurant inside the Hôtel Ritz Paris and end in the exclusive bar/club Le Magnifique.
With everything the First has to offer, the real question is- why not invest in a Paris apartment in the First?
